Dinámica poblacional y estudio de microsatélites de ADN en el tapir de tierras bajas

Resumen

Presentamos los resultados del primer estudio sobre el polimorfismo del ADN microsatélite en el tapir de tierras bajas (Tapirus terrestris) de la Guayana Francesa. Los enfoques moleculares están cobrando importancia en la conservación de especies, ya que los marcadores moleculares pueden proporcionar información fiable sobre la dinámica poblacional, las tendencias y el flujo genético entre áreas. La genética de poblaciones complementa eficazmente los métodos ecológicos y clásicos de campo, como los estudios, la evaluación de hábitats y los niveles e impactos de las amenazas.
