New sightings of the mountain tapir in the Central Andes of Ecuador by camera trapping

Abstract

Since 2007, the Project of Conservation of the Mountain Tapir (Tapirus pinchaque) (PCTA), has been carrying out actions focused on conservation of remaining populations of the species in the eastern slopes of the Ecuadorian`s central Andes, through three main topics: i) research and field monitoring, ii) capacity building, local training, environmental education and communication iii) and conservation through non government protected areas.
